Closure Order Granted on Bridlington Property After Reports of Drug Activity

A full closure order has been granted for a property on Rudding Drive, Bridlington, following multiple reports of antisocial behaviour and alleged drug dealing and use at the address.

The order, issued by Beverley Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 7th October, prohibits anyone other than authorised officers from East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Humberside Police, emergency services or utility providers from entering the property for three months. Anyone breaching the order faces a fine, imprisonment, or both.

The case was brought by the council’s Anti‑Social Behaviour Team after a prolonged investigation revealed intimidating behaviour, drug use, and housing of wanted individuals. Reports described a constant stream of visitors at all hours, loud music, shouting, and violent arguments.

Officers told the court that individuals known for drug dealing and previously subject to closure orders elsewhere in Bridlington were also linked to the property. The garden’s poor condition — with rubbish, dog faeces, and vermin — added to the distress of neighbours, who said the situation had caused anxiety and fear of reprisals.

Councillor Lyn Healing, Cabinet Member for Communities and Public Protection, said:

“We are dedicated to ensuring that the East Riding remains a good place to live and tackle antisocial behaviour wherever it occurs. We encourage concerned residents to report antisocial behaviour so that necessary steps can be taken.”

The closure order will remain in place until Thursday 7th January, allowing residents nearby to regain their peace and quality of life.

Residents can report antisocial behaviour online at www.eastriding.gov.uk/anti-social-behaviour or by calling 01482 396380.
