Local Community Groups: Bringing People Together
Our local community is home to a variety of groups designed to support, connect, and inspire individuals from all walks of life.
Whether you're looking for self-help resources, mental health support, or simply a place to make new friends, there’s something for everyone.
Some groups meet weekly, offering a consistent opportunity to connect and engage, while others meet monthly, providing a more flexible schedule for those with busy lives. These groups foster a sense of belonging, encourage personal growth, and create lasting friendships. By joining a community group, you can share experiences, gain valuable support, and become part of a welcoming network that truly understands the importance of coming together. Why not explore the groups near you and find the perfect fit for your needs?

Brightening Up Bridlington
Brightening Up Bridlington (BUB) began their voluntary community work in 2014 and have been undertaking various projects every month since then. Meeting on the third Saturday of every month, except December, the growing group litter pick in areas all over Bridlington, in addition to repairing ting seats, restoring historic railings and street furniture were required. They have no core funding and apply for grants when necessary. BUB also works closely with Bridlington In Bloom and the new Bridlington Ambassadors CIC - both also community voluntary groups.
BUB keep their members informed via their Facebook page on a monthly basis, in addition to being grateful to Bridlington Gold Radio for their help in spreading the word about upcoming projects.
After recently restaining all the seating in Pembroke Gardens, and South Cliff Gardens, The next two projects include installing the town’s first lobster sculpture and more litter picks in October and November. BUB welcomes new volunteers any month and young people are welcome too, if accompanied by a parent or guardian. All equipment is provided and often they end their sessions with a coffee at a local venue.
Brid Beach Walks & Finds
Step away from the rush of the week and start your Saturday with fresh sea air, a peaceful stroll along the North Side, and the simple joy of good company. Our Brid Beach Walk and Finds is a relaxed walk where you can enjoy the coastline, chat with others, and, if you like, spot a few little treasures the tide has left behind.
There’s no pressure to search for anything — sometimes the best part is simply walking, breathing in the sea air, and sharing the morning with others.
The whole family is welcome, including our four-legged friends.
We meet every Saturday at 10am, opposite The Expanse.
If you’d like to stay up to date or come along on a future walk, you can follow the group here:
