Flamborough Residents Call for Extended No. 14 Bus Service on Weekend Evenings

Flamborough residents are calling for urgent action to protect a vital transport link that many say is essential to daily life. A new petition is urging East Yorkshire Motor Services and East Riding of Yorkshire Council to extend the No. 14 Bridlington–Flamborough bus service until 9:30pm on Friday and Saturday evenings, arguing that the current early cut‑off leaves the community isolated.

For locals, the No. 14 bus is far more than a convenient route — it is a lifeline. Residents rely on it to get to work, attend medical appointments, complete shopping and errands, visit family, and take part in the social activities that keep the village vibrant throughout the year. Without a reliable evening service, many say their connection to the wider area becomes fragile.

The early end to weekend services particularly affects those without access to a car. With taxi fares often proving too expensive, workers finishing late shifts, students attending evening classes, and older residents visiting family are left with no practical way to travel.
