Bridlington Ambassadors Ask Residents What They Think of the Town’s Latest Artwork

Bridlington Business Ambassadors have begun gathering public feedback on their joint mural project with Bridlington Town Council — a striking artwork inspired by the Battle of Flamborough Head.

The team carried out their first ten‑question paper survey today among passers‑by and car park users, asking what people think of the mural, whether more should be commissioned around the town, and how such projects might help educate younger generations about local history and heritage.

The survey marks the start of a wider consultation process supported by the Do It For East Yorkshire Community Grant (DIFEY), which helped fund the mural. The Ambassadors will be back out in the coming days to continue collecting responses, and anyone wishing to take part can stop for a quick chat — it only takes a few minutes.

An online Commonplace survey will follow once the mural is complete, allowing even more residents to share their views digitally.

In addition, the Ambassadors plan to host a public talk on the Battle of Flamborough Head, featuring guest speakers from the Yorkshire Coast 1779 Group. Those interested in attending can email: bridlingtonambassadors2025@gmail.com to receive an invitation once the date is confirmed.

All feedback gathered will help justify the DIFEY grant and guide future mural commissions at other locations across Bridlington.

The official opening of the mural is scheduled for October, with full details to be announced soon.
