Humberside Police officers conducting high‑visibility foot patrols in Bridlington on Sunday (23rd August 2026) seized a vehicle after discovering the driver was both disqualified and uninsured.

Officers spotted the vehicle travelling on local roads and carried out routine checks. These revealed that the driver did not have a valid insurance policy in place. Further enquiries showed the individual was currently serving a six‑month driving ban after accumulating too many points.

The vehicle was seized under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act, and the driver was reported for:

Police say it was a busy and productive day for Operation Coastline officers, who continued their patrols on foot across the town. Alongside dealing with the seized vehicle, officers carried out extensive community engagement and Humber Talking surveys with residents on The Crayke, listening to concerns and gathering feedback to help shape local policing priorities.

Operation Coastline aims to maintain a visible presence across Bridlington’s busiest areas, tackling crime, improving safety and strengthening relationships with the community.
