A spectacular new attraction has arrived at Sewerby Hall and Gardens as the 2026 ICONIC BRICKS: Extinction exhibition officially opens to visitors.

The brick-built model trail features 17 impressive creations, each depicting animals that once roamed the earth — from prehistoric giants to species that disappeared as recently as the 1930s. Among the standout models are the Dire Wolf, Sabre Tooth Tiger, and an imposing Mammoth skull, all crafted with extraordinary detail.

The exhibition is designed for visitors of all ages, with plenty of opportunities to snap memorable photos at the sit‑in egg and dedicated selfie models dotted throughout the trail.

Each model showcases the remarkable craftsmanship of the builders, who have poured creativity and precision into every brick. The result is an immersive and unforgettable experience that blends education, imagination and family fun.

Councillor Nick Coultish, Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Tourism at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said:

“We are beyond excited to welcome ICONIC BRICKS: Extinction to Sewerby Hall and Gardens this weekend. This exhibition proves to be popular with families and visitors alike year after year, and we look forward to seeing everyone’s reaction to this year’s theme. There is a full programme of family-friendly events taking place as part of Sewerby’s Summer of Fun, so check out the website and explore what else this fabulous attraction has to offer.”

The exhibition will remain on display until Sunday, 13th September.
