Bridlington’s Neighbourhood Beat Officers have made three arrests during a busy day of routine coastal patrols yesterday (Monday, 17th August 2026).
While carrying out high‑visibility patrols as part of Operation Coastline, officers spotted a man wanted in connection with a shop theft on Scarborough Road on Monday, 10th August. He was detained without incident.
A second man was located shortly afterwards and arrested for failing to appear at Hull Magistrates Court.
Later in the day, officers arrested a third man in connection with public order offences on Wellington Road on Monday, 17th August, as well as criminal damage on Holyrood Avenue reported on Sunday, 16th August.
All three men remain in police custody, assisting with ongoing enquiries.
Operation Coastline is Humberside Police’s dedicated summer initiative aimed at keeping coastal towns welcoming and safe during the busiest months of the year. With visitor numbers naturally rising, officers say issues such as antisocial behaviour and opportunistic crime can increase — making visible patrols and early intervention essential.
The force says Op Coastline is designed to prevent incidents before they happen, respond quickly when needed, and provide reassurance to residents, businesses and visitors enjoying the region.
Anyone with concerns about crime or antisocial behaviour is encouraged to speak to officers when they see them out on patrol. Reports can also be made via AI Bobbi, online, or through the non‑emergency number 101. Always call 999 in an emergency or if a crime is in progress. Anonymous information can be shared via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
