Bridlington is gearing up for one of the brightest nights of the year as the town prepares for its annual Christmas Lights Switch‑On, set to take place on Friday, 27th November 2026.
King Street is once again expected to become the heart of the festivities, with organisers already putting plans in motion to transform the area into a hub of Christmas cheer. Residents, families and visitors from across the region are being encouraged to save the date and join in the celebrations.
The switch‑on has grown into a major highlight of Bridlington’s festive calendar, drawing large crowds eager to experience the moment the town’s lights illuminate the night sky.
Last year’s event proved especially popular, with King Street packed full of families enjoying seasonal entertainment, festive displays and a warm community atmosphere. Volunteers handed out free goodie bags to children, adding to the excitement.
The then Mayor of Bridlington, Cllr Angela Walker, also took to the stage, welcoming Father Christmas and celebrating the young artists whose creations featured in the Mayor’s Christmas Card Competition.

Although the full programme for this year’s event is still being finalised, organisers say further details will be revealed in the coming weeks. Please continue to check our website and the Bridlington Town Council Facebook page for further updates.
What’s certain is that Bridlington is once again preparing to bring the community together for a night of festive sparkle.
