Emergency services worked through the night in a major multi‑agency search operation after reports of a missing person near Barmston.
The Bridlington Coastguard Rescue Team was tasked overnight and into the early hours, joining colleagues from Hornsea and Filey Coastguard Rescue Teams, Humberside Police, Bridlington RNLI lifeboats, and Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 912 from Humberside.
The search covered a large and challenging stretch of coastline, including cliffs and a nearby caravan park. During the operation, the Coastguard helicopter located the casualty in the water and guided the RNLI inshore lifeboat, which reached the individual and brought them safely ashore.

Once on land, Coastguard personnel carried out an initial assessment before the helicopter crew provided further care until the arrival of Yorkshire Ambulance Service. The casualty was transported to hospital for further treatment and was reported to be in a stable condition.
A spokesperson for Bridlington Coastguard Rescue Team thanked all emergency service and volunteer crews involved for their professionalism and commitment throughout the operation. Due to the nature of the incident, no further details will be released.
