Children enjoying free swimming sessions at East Riding Leisure Bridlington during the summer holidays
Families in Bridlington can look forward to a summer packed with fun as East Riding Leisure Bridlington launches its school holiday activity programme — including free swimming sessions for all children aged 16 and under.
The centre will be offering a wide range of activities designed to keep youngsters active, entertained and smiling throughout the summer break, whatever the weather brings. Children of all ages can enjoy sessions such as bouncy castle and games, aqua fun, sports hall activities and more, giving parents and carers plenty of ways to keep the holidays lively.
As part of the council’s summer programme, free swimming will run from Saturday, 18th July to Sunday, 6th September, with two hour‑long sessions per week available for children aged three to 16 who live in the East Riding. There is no need to book, and places will be offered on a first‑come, first‑served basis.
Children under three can swim for free at any time, while under‑eights must be accompanied by an adult. Standard adult swimming fees apply.
Councillor Nick Coultish, East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Tourism, said: “East Riding Leisure have put together a fantastic programme of activities for children and young people this summer, with something to suit all interests and ages. We’re also very pleased to be bringing back free swimming sessions. We know the summer holidays can place extra pressure on household budgets, so we hope as many families as possible take advantage of this popular offer.”
