People living in Bridlington and surrounding villages are being urged to take part in the Humberside Police and Crime Commissioner’s Annual Survey 2026, which is now live and open until 17th August.
The Commissioner says this year’s survey carries “a slight change of focus” following national proposals to merge police forces and abolish the PCC role, which currently exists to hold police to account on behalf of the public.
He stressed the importance of hearing directly from local communities during a period of significant change, saying policing “exists to serve the public” and that confidence in future structures and governance is “exceptionally important”.
Alongside views on policing reforms, residents are also being asked which types of crime and anti‑social behaviour should be prioritised by Humberside Police and partner agencies. The Commissioner says this information remains vital in ensuring the force provides an effective and efficient service that keeps communities safe.
The results will help shape the work of the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) over the next two years. Recent survey feedback has already influenced priorities — including concerns around the use of e‑scooters in public areas, which became a key issue following an earlier anti‑social behaviour survey.
The survey takes around ten minutes to complete.
Residents are encouraged to take part and share their views on these important issues.
