Bridlington to Host Major UK Martial Arts and Self‑Defence Seminar

Bridlington will welcome one of the UK’s largest martial arts and self‑defence seminars on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 May, as world‑renowned practitioners gather at Bridlington Spa for a weekend of training, demonstrations and workshops.
The Martial Arts World Masters event brings together leading instructors from across the globe, offering visitors the chance to explore a wide range of styles and techniques all under one roof. The programme is open to everyone — from complete beginners to seasoned martial artists — with sessions designed to inspire, challenge and build confidence in a supportive setting.
This year’s seminar is fully inclusive, encouraging individuals and families of all ages to get involved. Attendees can take part in training or simply watch from the sidelines, making it an ideal introduction for anyone curious about the discipline, energy and community spirit of martial arts.
Highlights across the weekend include sessions led by internationally recognised grand masters, workshops suitable for all ages and abilities, and a diverse mix of martial arts traditions. Places can be booked in advance, but walk‑ins are also welcome.
Councillor Nick Coultish, East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s cabinet member for culture, leisure and tourism, said: “It’s great to see this event returning to our region, showcasing the variety and richness of martial arts. We encourage residents and visitors to take part and watch outstanding grand masters from around the globe in action at Bridlington Spa.”
