Brightening Up Bridlington

Brightening Up Bridlington (BUB) began their voluntary community work in 2014 and have been undertaking various projects every month since then. Meeting on the third Saturday of every month, except December, the growing group litter pick in areas all over Bridlington, in addition to repairing ting seats, restoring historic railings and street furniture were required. They have no core funding and apply for grants when necessary. BUB also works closely with Bridlington In Bloom and the new Bridlington Ambassadors CIC - both also community voluntary groups.

BUB keep their members informed via their Facebook page on a monthly basis, in addition to being grateful to Bridlington Gold Radio for their help in spreading the word about upcoming projects.

After recently restaining all the seating in Pembroke Gardens, and South Cliff Gardens, The next two projects include installing the town’s first lobster sculpture and more litter picks in October and November. BUB welcomes new volunteers any month and young people are welcome too, if accompanied by a parent or guardian. All equipment is provided and often they end their sessions with a coffee at a local venue.

Brid Beach Walks & Finds

Beach Walks & Finds – Bridlington If anyone’s interested, I’m starting a relaxed beach walk group in Bridlington.

Over the past few months I’ve really enjoyed getting down to the beach — just picking up the odd interesting stone or a nice piece of sea glass here and there — and it’s done wonders for my mental health.

The idea is simple: a gentle stroll, good company, and enjoying the coastline together. You’re welcome to bring a small bag or bucket if you fancy collecting, and families are more than welcome too.

Starting Saturday 21st March Promenade opposite The Expanse Hotel 10am – 11am

No pressure at all — just fresh air, friendly faces, and a wander by the sea.

If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, I’d love you to come along
