Sewerby Hall and Gardens, near Bridlington, has been honoured with a prestigious national award recognising its commitment to delivering exceptional visitor experiences.

The popular heritage attraction has received Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Award, placing it among the top 10 per cent of attractions worldwide. The accolade is based on consistently high ratings and reviews from visitors over the past year.

The award highlights Sewerby Hall and Gardens’ strong reputation for high‑quality hospitality, beautifully maintained grounds, engaging exhibitions and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that continues to draw visitors from across the UK and beyond.

The recognition comes as the venue prepares for a packed programme of events throughout the year. Among the highlights is the return of the much‑loved Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition, now open to the public, alongside a range of seasonal events, family activities and exhibitions designed for all ages.

Councillor Nick Coultish, East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s cabinet member for culture, leisure and tourism, said: “This award is fantastic recognition for Sewerby Hall and Gardens and for the dedicated team who work tirelessly to make it such a special place. Being ranked in the top 10 per cent of attractions worldwide is a real achievement and shows how highly visitors value the experience on offer here in the East Riding.”

Marie Gascoigne, general manager of Sewerby Hall and Gardens, added: “We’re absolutely delighted to receive this award. It’s especially meaningful because it’s based on feedback from our visitors. Our team takes great pride in making every visit enjoyable, whether people are coming for the gardens, the exhibitions or a family day out, and it’s wonderful to see that reflected in such positive reviews.”

Sewerby Hall House is open from 11am to 4.30pm (last admission 4pm), and the zoo is open from 10am to 4.30pm (last admission 4pm).
