Bridlington Mayor, Councillor Angela Walker has marked the end of her Mayoral year 2025/26 with the presentation of a cheque representing the final total raised for her chosen charities.

Throughout the year, Mayor Walker and her Consort, Graham Walker, have been fundraising for two causes close to her heart: New Pasture Lane Community Centre – The Bread Shed and the MND Association Yorkshire Coast. Both organisations provide vital support to local residents, and the Mayor made them the focus of her year‑long charity appeal.

In addition to her main charities, Mayor Walker also chose to support two much‑loved local theatre groups — Harbourside Theatre Group and Spotlight Theatre — recognising their excellent contributions to Bridlington’s cultural life and community spirit.

This morning, the Mayor and Consort attended a presentation where they were handed a cheque confirming the final amount raised during the year. The funds will now be distributed to the selected organisations to support their ongoing work across the town.

Mayor Walker thanked everyone who contributed, adding that the generosity of residents, volunteers and supporters had made the fundraising year a memorable success.
