It’s was a busy Sunday for Humberside Police officers working under Operation Coastline in Bridlington.
Yesterday began with officers visiting Pinfold Lane, speaking with residents about local concerns
Later, while on foot patrol along St John Street, two local men attempted a theft from a nearby shop. Officers gave chase — and with the help of a quick‑thinking local hero, one of the suspects was detained and dealt with accordingly.
The team’s proactive work continued into the afternoon. Near Bessingby Way, officers spotted the driver of a silver Renault Scénic not wearing a seatbelt. Checks revealed the driver was uninsured, leading to the vehicle being seized under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act 1988.
The driver was reported for:
- Driving a Motor Vehicle Without Third‑Party Insurance
- Failing to Wear a Seatbelt
Operation Coastline continues to focus on visible reassurance, community engagement, and swift action to keep Bridlington safe and welcoming throughout the busy summer season.
