Yorkshire is gearing up for a bright and colourful celebration next month as communities prepare for Yellow Yorkshire Week, the annual fundraising campaign supporting the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Running from 6–12 July, the week invites schools, businesses and community groups across the region to embrace all things yellow while raising vital funds to help keep the charity’s helicopters flying.
Participants are being encouraged to take part in a range of cheerful, yellow‑themed activities, including:
-
Yellow non‑uniform days in schools
-
Lemon‑themed bake sales
-
Bright yellow displays in workplaces, shops and community venues
Yorkshire Air Ambulance says every pound raised during the week helps ensure its crews can continue responding to life‑threatening emergencies across the county.
A spokesperson said the charity hopes to see Yorkshire “turning yellow” once again as residents come together to celebrate, have fun and support a service relied upon by thousands each year.
Anyone wishing to take part can sign up online and join the region‑wide celebration this July.
