Bridlington Residents Invited To Help Shape Major Regeneration Plans

Residents in Bridlington are being urged to share their views on how their neighbourhoods could benefit from upcoming regeneration projects, as part of the Government’s Pride in Place programme.
The initiative, announced in September 2025, will see up to £19.6 million invested in Bridlington West. Local people are now being encouraged to take part in an online engagement exercise to help identify the priorities, challenges and opportunities that matter most to the community.
A key feature of the programme is the creation of neighbourhood boards made up of residents and community representatives. Supported by the local authority and MPs, these boards will help shape and approve investment plans, ensuring decisions reflect local knowledge and ambition.
In line with Government requirements, at least 51% of board members must live or work within the area of benefit. Expressions of Interest are now open for those wishing to join the Bridlington West Neighbourhood Board.
Martyn Coltman has been appointed Interim Chair for Bridlington West, following agreement between East Riding of Yorkshire Council and local constituency MPs.
Councillor Anne Handley, leader of East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said the programme represents an important opportunity for the town. “We’re proud to support communities across the region, and to support the Pride in Place initiative to help regenerate Bridlington. We encourage interested residents to find out more and get involved if they can.”
Applicants should be able to represent their local area and bring knowledge, experience or a passion for community‑led change. An independent selection committee, led by the interim Chairs and supported by MPs and the Council, is being formed to oversee recruitment and develop draft terms of reference.

The application window closes at 12 noon on Monday 20th April, with shortlisting and interviews expected to conclude in May.
