Bridlington Town Football Club is preparing for one of its biggest matches in decades — and the whole of East Yorkshire is being urged to get behind the Seasiders this Saturday.
The club hosts Curzon Ashton in the Isuzu FA Trophy First Round Proper at the HDM Energies Stadium, marking the first time Bridlington Town has reached this stage in 22 years.
Local MP Charlie Dewhirst has thrown his support behind the team, raising the occasion in the House of Commons and encouraging the Speaker and Leader of the House to join in cheering for Brid.
“They may be the underdogs,” said Mr Dewhirst, “the lowest-ranked side from Yorkshire and the North East left in the competition, but I know the whole of East Yorkshire has their back.”
