Marton Road Pharmacy in Bridlington celebrated a fantastic Innovation Day, marking a new chapter in local healthcare technology.
Owner Jaya Authunuri, who also runs Westhill Pharmacy, thanked everyone who attended and took part in the Name the Robot competition. The draw was made by Charlie Dewhirst MP, revealing the winning name — ‘Robin’ — chosen from an incredible 250 to 300 entries!
Among the guests were Prince Alexander of Italy, the inventor of the robot, Charlie Dewhirst MP, and Councillor Liam Dealtry, all joining local residents to celebrate this exciting milestone.
Jaya explained that the robot technology allows the pharmacy team to spend more time talking with patients about the Minor Ailments and Pharmacy First services. He also highlighted the importance of free hearing checks available to all customers, noting that hearing loss is one of the biggest contributors to early onset dementia.

The day was a great success, with local people showing strong support for local businesses. Jaya invited everyone to visit and meet Robin the Robot, who has already transformed the pharmacy’s efficiency — 70% of prescriptions are picked, packed, and ready within 10 minutes, and 80% within an hour.
The staff are thrilled with the improvement, and with same‑day delivery available, Marton Road Pharmacy continues to lead the way in community care and innovation.
