In their call-out to the community, the Flamborough Flippers encouraged residents to “dive into the waves of empowerment” and embrace the spirit of International Women’s Day. The group hopes the swim will highlight how people can “emerge stronger together” by supporting one another and celebrating equality in all its forms.

Participants are invited to don their trunks, bikinis, speedos, or whatever swimwear suits them best, and join a lively crowd ready to “splash, swim, and slay the day away.” The organisers emphasise that the event is not just for women, welcoming “mermaids, mermen, and sea creatures of all genders” to take part.
