Bridlington’s elected East Riding Governor for Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust (HTFT) is calling on residents to make their voices heard at the upcoming Bridlington Health Forum – General Practice Healthcare for Bridlington, taking place on Thursday, March 5th at 1:30pm at Bridlington North Library.

The Governor, who regularly raises local concerns directly with the HTFT Executive Board, says the meeting comes at a crucial time for the town’s healthcare. They have been “asking questions, challenging decisions, and making sure we understand all the changes happening in our GP services,” emphasising the need for transparency and community involvement.

Local Primary Care Leaders to Attend
The Forum will welcome Dr Priya Reddy and colleagues from Bridlington’s Primary Care Network. They will:
• Explain upcoming changes to GP services
• Discuss current challenges and planned improvements
• Answer questions from residents
• Listen to concerns about access, capacity, and the future of local care

Organisers say the session is designed to give residents clear, first-hand information about what is happening in primary care and how services may evolve.

HTFT’s Role in Local Healthcare
Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust provides a wide range of services that support Bridlington’s health system, including:
• Community and primary care services working alongside GP practices
• Mental health support for children, adults, and older people
• Therapy, rehabilitation, and children’s services
• Support for people with learning disabilities and those in addiction recovery
• Training and development for future healthcare professionals
The Governor stressed that understanding how these services connect with GP practices is essential for residents who want to influence local decision-making.
