Acclaimed Thriller Writer to Visit North Bridlington Library

A celebrated name in contemporary crime fiction is heading to the coast next month, as North Bridlington Library welcomes bestselling author Alex North for an afternoon exploring the darker corners of storytelling.
Alex North will appear at the library on Sunday 8th March, from 2pm to 3.30pm, for a special event titled Alex North: Exploring the Shadows of Storytelling. Tickets are £5 per person, available in advance, and must be purchased for all attendees.
North’s debut novel, The Whisper Man, became a Sunday Times, New York Times, and international bestseller, earning praise for its chilling atmosphere and emotional depth. The book has now been translated into more than 30 languages and is currently being adapted for film, with a star-studded cast including Robert DeNiro, Michelle Monaghan, and Adam Scott.
He went on to publish The Shadow Friend and The Half Burnt House, further cementing his reputation as a master of psychological suspense. His latest novel, The Man Made of Smoke, continues his exploration of fear, memory, and the unseen forces that shape human behaviour.
Before writing under the name Alex North, he studied Philosophy at the University of Leeds and worked in the university’s Sociology and Social Policy department. He also wrote ten crime novels as Steve Mosby, winning the CWA Dagger in the Library in 2012. He now lives in Leeds with his wife and son.
