Humberside Police have issued a further update following five days of detailed enquiries into the deaths of Cherish Bean and Ethan Slater at Little Eden Holiday Park in Bridlington on Wednesday 18th February.

Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Ben Robinson confirmed that post-mortem examinations were carried out on Sunday 22nd February. The results were inconclusive, and additional specialist tests are now underway to establish the cause of death.

DCI Robinson said the outcome comes at an “extremely difficult time” for both families. They continue to receive support from specially trained officers and are being kept fully updated as the investigation progresses.

The investigation remains “highly complex and multi-layered”. A 27-year-old man arrested on Saturday 21st February has been released on conditional bail. Two other men, aged 33 and 42, also remain on conditional bail as enquiries continue.
DCI Robinson stressed that the latest update “does not represent the conclusion” of the investigation. Significant work is ongoing, including specialist analysis, searches of the premises, and a detailed review of all information gathered with partner agencies.

While the medical cause of death has not yet been confirmed, carbon monoxide poisoning remains a primary line of enquiry. Officers are continuing to examine all available evidence to understand the circumstances leading up to the tragedy.

A police cordon remains in place at the holiday park while further specialist work is carried out. The force continues to work closely with the Health and Safety Executive, Humberside Fire & Rescue, and East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
DCI Robinson acknowledged the impact the incident has had on the wider community and thanked residents for their continued cooperation as the investigation moves forward.
