Police have launched an investigation after two teenagers were found dead at Little Eden Holiday Park on Bridlington Bay Road on Wednesday, 18th February.

Emergency services were called following concerns for safety at one of the rental properties. A 15‑year‑old girl and a 17‑year‑old boy were pronounced dead at the scene.

Northbank Divisional Commander Chief Superintendent Matt Peach described the incident as “incredibly distressing and heartbreaking”, adding that specially trained officers are supporting the families. He urged the public not to speculate and to respect the families’ privacy.

A police cordon remains in place while enquiries continue. Officers are working alongside Humberside Fire & Rescue, the Health and Safety Executive, and East Riding of Yorkshire Council to establish what happened.
As part of the investigation, a 33‑year‑old man has been arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter and is currently in custody.

Police say the cause of the teenagers’ deaths is still unexplained, but one line of enquiry is the possibility of carbon monoxide poisoning. All other properties on the site have been visited by emergency services and partner agencies to offer advice and ensure safety.

Chief Supt Peach acknowledged the shock felt within the community and said a dedicated team is working to determine the full circumstances. An increased police presence will remain in the area, with further updates to follow when available.
