Business Ratepayers Urged to Check Their Valuation Ahead of 2026 Changes

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is encouraging all businesses that pay business rates to review their current property valuation, as national changes are due to take effect from 1 April 2026.
To view your valuation – and to request any amendments – you will need to have a Business Rates Valuation Account with the Valuation Office Agency (VOA).
Businesses have until 31 March 2026 to request a change to their existing valuation by checking the information currently held about their property. The council is advising ratepayers not to leave this until the last minute, as registering for an account and linking properties can take up to 15 days.
Those who do not yet have an account are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible to ensure they are prepared ahead of the 2026 revaluation.
